Once again Corner Inlet motorcycle Club set a brilliant track comprising of grass and single line tree sections. The format for the two day event was sprint Saturday and cross country Sunday.

This year was an exceptional event as it was dry unlike previous years that were wet. The location was at a private property just 2 kms out of Foster. It was a very picturesque venue, bay on one side and hilly pasture land surrounded by trees. When you were on top of the hills in the grass section you could see Corner inlet with a small island in the middle and Wilson’s Promontory off to the right. On Saturday the juniors had 4 sprints taking 390 seconds per heat for the fast 125cc riders and about 430 sec for the smaller fast gun riders, such as Travis Cooper and Jesse Milner on 85cc machines. There was plenty of time between heats for the juniors to rest as this event only had one loop. The juniors rode a shortened version of the senior track, a section of the bush component was removed.

As the track got worn in and more defined the junior’s confidence in the track, resulted in faster and smoother riding and times.
Results for Saturday were:

The format for today was different as it was a 90 minute cross country race and the juniors were doing a hands on head start.

The weather for the day was awesome the rain held off it was about 18 degrees and the track was set. The club had been out early that morning preparing and everything was primed

On Sunday the bush section that the seniors did the day before were included and this added roughly 560 seconds to the loop. The kids were pumped as they knew that the track was going to be technical in the single trail with fast sections on the grass.

Bad Luck competitors
Jake Deagan had some bad luck by hitting a roo, but that didn’t hurt him or his results too much. Luckily Jake continued on with a few bruises. Chris Daveys also had some bad luck crashing in a section going around a dam. Unfortunately this was in the first round and has put him of the bike for while as he has ligament damage in the ankle area. Another rider that had an unfortunate crash was Nathan Baldock he has a broken wing and will be fine again soon. Get well soon guys.
Also two riders that were riding well but did not finish through mechanical problems was Troy Maines & Rhys Bennett, hope all goes well for the next round.

The next event is a special one as it an enduro at three bridges by MRCV for juniors only. Hope to see you there.
