A meeting was held at the clubrooms a couple of weeks ago to discuss the 2013 series and several outcomes were decided.
A summary of these outcomes is available on link below.
The revised calendar in in website calendar and there are 10 rounds planned, but it is expected that at least one round will be cancelled due to weather so this then gives the club calendared dates for a substitute round.
It is also possible a round may need to be cancelled due to lack of club support at pre-event working bees, but based on last year’s club support at working bees this is not expected.
NEXT ROUND – HEATHCOTE and Coaching on Sat for Juniors
The next round is scheduled for Heathcote on Sunday 17th March which will be a Sprint format.
This is a new untried venue for 2013 and is at the drag strip venue with good camping facilities.
It will be fairly open terrain with about 6 min track, no we aren’t using the drag strip and cars and bikes are to stay off the drag strip as this is not part of the club hire deal.
Entries will now close now a day later on Wed 13th March at 8pm to give members a little more time after this reminder e-mail and with Monday being a holiday.
There has been some interest in coaching and kickstart program, so if a junior rider needs coaching hours for their licence renewal or coaching for new licence (kick-start), then be at Heathcote (ORCC venue for the next day) by 12 noon on Sat 16th March. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm numbers for coaching.
To be eligible for points for the year, you must attend one working bee to help with the round preparation for the race and must have ridden at 4 rounds. So thank you to all the people that have helped so far and looking forward to hearing from all the others. If you have already done a working bee you are most welcome back to do another working bee as most new members find this is the best way to meet other members and become involved in the club. It is also a great opportunity to get in some riding with better riders to improve riding skills and technique.
