Wonthaggi Rezoned
Thanks To Denise & Gary Hore and the committee, after a considerable amount of time and legal expenses Wonthaggi Motocross Complex has now been rezoned from Rural to Special Use - Motorcycle Racing this now means the property can only be used for motorcycle racing, this will now allow the club to proceed with purchase the property.

Wonthaggi Practice Day
Last Wonthaggi practice day 9/7/2006 was about to be cancelled for lack of a MAV official, Rob Lewis offered to run the meeting and did an excellent job in helping with the meeting, checking Wrist Bands and Helmets, still had problem couple of senior riders riding in the Pit Area, on practice day this area is set aside for Learners & Pee Wee riders.
The 11.30am cut off for rider sign in is working well, less riders are now turning up for practice days making the day easier to control with the number members available to run practice days. Several commented that the track was in perfect condition, rain on Friday & Saturday prior to the practice day meant the track did not require watering even a small amount of dust by the end of the day did not cause any problems.

Closed Pits
Closed Pits, discussed in length by MAV Motocross Management Committee. It will be recommended that at all State Championships and/or open meetings that the pits will be of a closed nature and that entry to the pit area will be accessed only by riders and mechanics and guardians over the age of 18 years. Armbands or bollards or another method approved by the steward of the meeting and given out at sign in and all other will identify these people
Persons other than competitors will not be allowed in the pit area.
