Happy New Year and hope you all had a great Christmas. Quick update of things happening around the club and some dates to lock in. First Social Meeting for 2015 will be Thursday 12th of February at the Club Rooms starting at 6:30 with a light BBQ provided for a Gold Coin donation.  The club will be running social meetings every 4th week with a BBQ start and none of the waffle! Wonthaggi has been opened for a couple of twilight sessions on both the MX and Enduro loops, although the MX track has not been prepped due to weather conditions, still a great opportunity for a mid week ride. Keep tuned to the DMCC facebook page for upcoming practice sessions!

MX News
A planning meeting is to be held at Wonthaggi on Sunday 8th of February at 11:00 AM and we would like to see as many Members as possible. We will be forming a new MX Committee and looking at suggestions for club and practise days and setting the dates for these for the year. Whilst at Wonthaggi we will be taking a track walk and looking for input from riders on areas of the track so that we can begin planning the year ahead.

Weather dependant, we will be holding a practice day for the afternoon.

Classic
The major news for club permit holders is that Vicroads has from the 31st. of January changed the requirements for club permit applications. From that date all machines newer than 1948 require a roadworthy certificate. The DMCC will need to hold on file photos

of any machines applying after that date. Imported machines will require a certification for Australian Design Rules. None of this is retrospective so machines already on red plates will not be affected unless club membership and/or permit fees are not paid on time and therefore lapse.

Other news on the classic scene is that on the 15th February is the Upper Beaconsfield Village Fair which includes a classic bike show run by us. Anyone who would like to exhibit their machine would be most welcome. Our location will be west side of the local Public Hall on Salisbury Road from approximately 9am to 1pm.

Monthly classic rides are held with other clubs from the Baxter Tavern at 8.30am.on the first Sunday of every month. This is called

The Brian Beere Memorial Run.
